By Train:
The is a 2 minute walk from Heuston Intercity Railway Station, serving the South and West of Ireland. Additionally, there is a frequent 'Rail-link' public bus service and tram from Connolly Station to Heuston Station (bus numbers 90/91).
By Plane:
- There is a Express Bus Service, Airlink number 748, to Heuston Station, last stop. The fare will be EUR 5.80. The is located just across the River Liffey from Heuston. Buses operate approximately every 20 to 30 minutes.
- Alternatively, from Dublin Airport, take the 747 (approximately every 10 - 15 minutes) to the Central Bus Station and then transfer to the Red Line Tram. Disembark at Museum or Heuston. The fare for the Airlink Bus is EUR 5.
From Dublin Airport By Car:
- Join the M1 motorway for Dublin and take the 1st immediate exit onto the M50 for N2/N3/N4/N7.
- Continue through toll bridge (EUR1.80) and take the next exit off the M50 immediately after the bridge.
- Turn left onto the N4 for the city centre.
- Continue for approximately 4 miles until you come to Heuston Rail Station on your left. The road curves left around the station, bringing you across the River Liffey.
- Once across the bridge, turn right and then immediately left.
- At the first traffic lights turn left. The and car park are on your right. Journey time is approximately 20 minutes.

The older part of the Ashling Best Ashling Western Hotel on Parkgate Street will be undergoing building works involving a major transformation and will result in 130 new deluxe rooms, a stylish new restaurant and bar, along with a fabulous new façade.
Works will commence on Monday 14 January 2008 and take approximately 12 months. During the construction phase, it will be “business as usual” albeit on a smaller scale (70 bedrooms) and with some necessary changes to allow the works to take place.
From Monday 14 January 2008, the Best Ashling Western Hotel entrance will be accessed from Montpelier Hill at the rear of Parkgate Street (don’t worry, it will be well sign posted!) We will also be operating Cobblestones Bistro and our Guinness Lounge bar from here, so no need for anyone to go hungry or thirsty! Our multi-storey car park (free to residents) will be in operation as usual along with several meeting rooms.
During the period of construction, we will be doing everything to minimise any possible disturbance or disruption to your stay. If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
