On the Outside, the building looks like a medieval castle. On the inside, the genuine touch of care and romance reigns supreme.
Through our hotel and charming rooms wanders a ghost. The ghost's name is Jenny McArthur. She came to Gothenburg from Scotland with her husband at the end of the nineteen century. He was a weaving instructor in the Old Town's weaving factories.
Perhaps it is the ambiance and feeling of everlasting romance that surrounds the hotel or the rustic, classic and calm British style that makes the ghost feel so at home.
The property was built in 1897 as living quarters for the Scottish weaving instructors. From the Central Station (Drottningtorget) Take tram number 1 (to Östra Sjukhuset), 3 (to Kålltorp) or 6 (to Kortedala). These trams depart from the stop closest to the canal. Get off at "Olskrokstorget" which is the 3rd stop after the Central Station. Walk across the tram tracks and continue past the small red houses that should be on your left and then down the pathway (called "Borgaregatan") between the apartment complexes for about 100 meters (300 feet). At the end of the pathway take a right and walk up "Olskroksgatan" for another 200 meters (600 feet) and the hotel should be right in front of you.
